چکیده

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: Currently, there is an ongoing debate whether progesterone receptor positive and estrogen negative breast carcinomas represent a true distinct subtype of tumor or mere immunohistochemical artifact. In this study, we conducted immunohistochemistry panel with the antibodies TFF1, EGFR, CK5 to reclassify phenotype in luminal basal-like subtype. METHODS: Tumors -/progesterone +, Her-2 – from large population cancer patients were selected be studied. Immunohistochemistry was performed. showing positivity for regardless EGFR results, classified as luminal-like carcinomas. Those lesions that but and/or CK5, triple-negative When three markers negative, tumors undetermined. Clinical pathologic characteristics recurrence evaluated. RESULTS: Out 1188 investigated, 30 cases (2.5%) presented +/HER2- phenotype. Of them, 27 (90%) carcinomas, one (3.3%), two undetermined (6.7%). The mean follow-up study group 27.7 (2.7 50) months. 26 patients, 6 had recurrence: 2 local 4 systemic recurrences. average time 17 (8 38) CONCLUSION: Estrogen +/tumors exhibit aggressive behavior, similar tumors. An appropriate categorization these should made improve their therapeutic management.

ADENOSINE DEAMINASE ACTIVITY IN ESTROGEN RECEPTOR POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE HUMAN BREAST CANCER CELL LINES

ABSTRACT Background: The aims of this study were to assay the activity of adenosine deaminase (ADA) in estrogen receptor positive (MCF-7) and negative (MDA-MB468) breast cancer cell lines. Methods: MDA-MB468 and MCF-7 breast cancer cell lines were cultured in complete medium, striped serum with and without 0.0 1~-LM diethylstilbestrol (DES), complete medium in the presence and absence of 111M ...

Outcomes of Estrogen Receptor Negative and Progesterone Receptor Positive Breast Cancer

PURPOSE To describe the clinical features and outcomes of estrogen receptor negative (ER-) and progesterone receptor positive (PgR+) breast cancer. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed a well-characterized database of sequential patients diagnosed with early stage invasive breast carcinoma. Outcomes of interest were time to relapse (TTR) and overall survival (OS). Multivariable Cox proportiona...

Molecular essence and endocrine responsiveness of estrogen receptor-negative, progesterone receptor-positive, and HER2-negative breast cancer

BACKGROUND The clinical significance of progesterone receptor (PgR) expression in estrogen receptor-negative (ER-) breast cancer is controversial. Herein, we systemically investigate the clinicopathologic features, molecular essence, and endocrine responsiveness of ER-/PgR+/HER2- phenotype. METHODS Four study cohorts were included. The first and second cohorts were from the Surveillance, Epid...

Progesterone receptor status in determining the prognosis of estrogen receptor positive/ HER2 negative breast carcinoma patients.

PURPOSE To evaluate the impact of progesterone receptor (PR) status on estrogen receptor (ER)-positive and HER2-negative breast cancer. METHODS A total of 1673 operable breast cancer patients, diagnosed from June 1984 to June 2011 were retrospectively reviewed and 400 patients with ER-positive and HER2-negative tumors were identified and evaluated. ER-positive and HER2-negative patients were ...

Relation between Estrogen and Progesterone Receptor Status with p53, Ki67 and Her-2 Markers in Patients with Breast Cancer

Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, containing approximately one third of all illnesses in women. Assessment of molecular markers is valuable in predicting the outcome of disease and decision making for optimal treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between estrogen and progesterone receptors with Her-2, Ki67, P53, and clinicopathologica...
